How long do brushes last?

Estimates on current usage for polyethylene is 15,000 washes (double for foam)

What kind of washing can we do?

Any vehicles 14 feet fall and under can be washed in 5 minutes or less.

What are the benefits over handwashing?

Staff stays dry and clean. Wash time requires minimal physical effort.

Can I add more chemicals than just soap?

Yes, there are options available for rinse, degreaser, Reverse Osmosis, soft water, etc.

How much soap is used per wash?

Less than 1 ounce of soap is used per minute.

How do you replace brushes?

Brushes are in 1 foot sections. It’s as easy as replacing two screws and two bolts/nuts.

What are the maintenance requirements of this system?

Very low requirements versus any system on the market. We have service programs available on a yearly package to enable any request. Parts are all warehoused and available for immediate delivery.

How are the brushes for paint?

Soft polyethylene brushes have been used for over 25 years with no issues. An upgrade to foam brushes is also available depending on graphics.

What kind of specialized training for staff is required?

Machines and systems are all automated. One usage of the machine is typically the amount of training required.

Do I need permits to install?

No, this system is equivalent to a piece of equipment such as a pressure washer.

What drainage do I need?

System only uses 3 to 5 gallons of water per minute, approximately the same as a pressure washer. Regular sewer drainage is the only requirement.

What structure do I need to have available for installation?

No structural changes required, only an area to install an overhead festoon system, 220V plug (single or 3 phase) and a regular city water tap.

Where Can I Install a machine?

Anywhere inside or outside your facility that has 4 feet clearance.

Our  Brushes

The Awash standard brush is polyethelene. Each strand is 0.6mm; the finer the brush, the better its ability to clean fine crevasses. The cruciform shape of the strand allows a bead of soap and bead of water to sit in the crevasse for lubricity.

Maintaining the brushes is important

Polyethelene brushes last 10,000 to 15,000 washes or 5 years; once the cruciform wears out, the strand loses lubricity. A simple test of brush replacement is to measure existing from shaft to ends. A new brush is 16” long. Flagged ends offer a better finish for the final clean. Short brushes cause strain & stress on the motor or gearbox, leading to possible burn-out.

How do you know its time for a new brush?

The stands on a new brush will measure 16 inches.
The strands on a new brush will have flagged ends.
A worn brush may have flat ends on the strands.
A worn brush may also have curled ends on the strands.
